Pocognoli’s appointment is a bold gamble by the Scottish FA, but his fresh ideas could help Scotland break free from familiar thinking and build for the future.
It’s a huge gamble. But it takes the national side in a new direction… I hope he’s able to build on Steve Clarke’s success. But enjoyed reading your thoughts
I like the fact that the Scottish FA have gone against the grain and ditched the usual old boys network of managers, but it also highlights the fact that there is no quality Scottish manager out there imo who would be good enough for the national team - Moyes aside.
Here's hoping he also decides to freshen things up in the squad and put out some of the faces that Clarke always selected out to pasture and bring some of the new boys through.
I completely take your point re Scottish managers! And yes, I think Clarke like so many managers had his tried and tested favourites but that squad needs a new look
Most definitely. I will have a piece up later on a list of players for the national team going forward - who to ditch, who to call up, and who remains.
