Celtic seal club-record signing of Danish striker Kasper Høgh
Danish international Kasper Høgh joins Celtic in £11 million record deal from Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt.
Celtic have completed the club-record signing of the Danish international striker Kasper Høgh on a four-year contract, with the option of a further year, subject to international clearance.
The 25-year-old arrives from Bodø/Glimt after an impressive spell in Norway, where he established himself in both domestic football and European competition, playing 96 times and scoring 51 times during his two-and-a-half years with the Norwegian side. He will wear the number nine shirt at Celtic and joins Martin O’Neill’s squad before the new league campaign kicks off on Monday against Dundee and the club’s upcoming Champions League qualifier.
Speaking to the official Celtic website in his first interview after signing for the Scottish champions, Kasper Høgh said: “I’m so happy. When I came into the room and saw the shirt, I was really excited. The history of the club is so big. I spoke with some people and with my family about the club.
“The feeling they had, and the feeling I had in my stomach, was that this was a really good match.”
Hogh’s signing is a real statement of intent from Celtic after a summer amidst fan protests and boycotts over what they see is mismanagement from the Celtic board.
