Falkirk have added another American recruit to their squad with the season‑long loan signing of winger CJ Fodrey from MLS side Austin FC.
The 22‑year‑old becomes John McGlynn’s 16th summer arrival and follows fellow American Jacob Murrell in joining the Bairns as they continue to widen their recruitment reach.
Fodrey, who grew up in California, developed through several San Diego academies before moving to LA Galaxy’s youth system. He later impressed in college football with San Diego State Aztecs, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 18 matches.
His first professional spell came with San Diego Loyal in the USL Championship, and he was drafted 13th overall by Austin FC in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. He went on to make 50 appearances for the Texas club, including scoring a dramatic 120th‑minute winner against Minnesota United which sent Austin to their first ever cup final.
McGlynn said Fodrey’s versatility across the front line and his physical attributes made him an ideal fit for Falkirk’s attacking options.
