Kieron Bowie leaves Verona for Sassuolo on season long loan deal
Scotland international stays in Serie A with Sassuolo alongside former Hibs defender Josh Doig after move from relegated Hellas Verona.
Scotland international Kieron Bowie has completed a move from Hellas Verona to Serie A side Sassuolo on loan until the end of the season, with an obligation to buy upon the fulfilment of certain conditions.
The former Hibs striker moved to Verona in the January transfer window on a four and a half year deal, worth a reported £5 million. He went on to play 14 times for the relegated Serie A side, scoring 4 times.
He will link up with former Hibs defender Josh Doig, who coincidentally made the same move from the Easter Road side to Verona in the summer of 2022, before moving to Sassuolo in January 2024.
“Verona - Hellas Verona FC announces that striker Kieron Bowie has joined Unione Sportiva Sassuolo Calcio on loan with an obligation to buy upon the fulfilment of certain conditions,” said a club statement.
“The Gialloblù Club bids farewell to Kieron and thanks him, wishing him all the best for the next chapter of his career.”
The Scotland international missed out in a call-up to the Scotland national team for this summer’s World Cup, despite playing a combined 45 times for Hibernian and Verona, scoring 13 goals last season.
