Motherwell and Hibs learn UEFA Conference League opponents
Hibernian and Motherwell have found out who could stand in their way as they begin their Conference League campaigns.
Hibernian and Motherwell have learned their opponents for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League as both clubs prepare to begin their European campaigns.
Hibs will face either Albanian side Vllaznia or Kosovo outfit Malisheva, while Motherwell have been drawn against Faroese club HB Tórshavn.
Both Premiership sides enter the competition at this stage and must navigate three two-legged ties to reach the group phase.
Hibs came close to doing so last season, only to suffer late heartbreak against Legia Warsaw. A stoppage-time equaliser in the second leg forced extra time, with the Polish side ultimately progressing to the competition proper.
David Gray’s side will aim to go one step further this time, while Motherwell look to mount a successful European run of their own.
The first legs of the ties are scheduled for July 23, with the return fixtures set for July 30. Confirmation of kick-off times and venues will follow in due course.
