Rangers confirm Mohamed Diomande’s £4.5m departure to Turkish Super League side Corum FK after two-and-a-half years at Ibrox.
Rangers have confirmed the sale of midfielder Mohamed Diomande to Turkish Super League side Corum FK, ending the 24-year-old’s two-and-a-half-year spell at Ibrox.
The deal, reported to be worth an initial £4.5 million with potential add-ons, sees the Ivory Coast international sign a three-year contract with an option for a further season.
Diomande signed for Rangers in January 2024 on loan from Danish club FC Nordsjælland, with the move made permanent later that year. During his time in Glasgow, he made 122 appearances across all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing 14 assists, and featured in all three of Rangers’ matches so far this season under manager Derek McInnes. His final outing came in Sunday’s 2-1 Scottish Premiership defeat to Hibernian at Ibrox.
In a statement posted on twitter, Rangers said: “Everyone at Rangers thanks Mohamed for all his contributions and wishes him all the very best for the future.”
Corum FK, who won promotion to the Turkish Super League this season, announced the transfer on Wednesday evening, confirming they had reached agreement with both Rangers and the player.
While the exact fee has not been disclosed by either club, multiple reports indicate Rangers secured an initial payment of approximately £4.5 million, with the overall package potentially rising to around £6 million through performance-related add-ons. That would represent a modest profit on the reported £4.3 million Rangers paid to make Diomande’s move permanent in 2024.
Diomande’s debut game in the Turkish Super League will be a high-profile trip to Galatasaray on Friday night.
