Rangers have completed the signing of Aston Villa right-back Kosta Nedeljkovic on a season-long loan, with a conditional obligation to buy the 20-year-old Serbia international.
The Ibrox club will pay an initial loan fee, with a £4 million obligation to make the move permanent next summer if appearance triggers are met.
Nedeljkovic joined Villa from Red Star Belgrade in January 2024, making 10 first-team appearances before spending the last 18 months on loan at RB Leipzig, where injuries limited game time to just six Bundesliga appearances last season.
Rangers manager Derek McInnes, speaking on the signing of Nedeljkovic, said: “Kosta is an athletic and energetic full-back who is keen to get forward, but he also has a real desire to defend and compete, and he will further strengthen a key area for us.
“He has already gained some valuable experience at a high level in England and Germany, as well as representing Serbia internationally.”
Nedeljkovic becomes Rangers’ 11th signing of the summer window, with Rangers already having two right backs at the club in Dujon Sterling and Ross McCrorie.
He will link up with fellow Serbia international Vanja Dragojevic, who arrived at Ibrox earlier in the window.
Speaking after completing the move, Nedeljkovic said the decision was straightforward once he spoke with McInnes.
“Rangers is such a big club, a big family, and I am excited to join and help the team have success together,” he said. “For me, it was an easy decision after meeting with the coach; I only wanted Rangers. It is a big opportunity and a big responsibility. I always try to be positive and work hard.”
