The League Cup Quarter Final draw took place this evening and it saw Rangers drawn against Scottish champions Celtic after their 5-1 win over St.Mirren at Ibrox this afternoon.
The tie will take place on the weekend of the 12th - 13th September, in what will be Derek McInnes’ first derby game in charge, with the league fixture a week later at Celtic Park.
Stenhousemuir, who shocked Premiership side Motherwell 1-0 after extra time, will host last season’s Scottish Premiership runners-up, Hearts.
There is also an all-top-flight tie between Kilmarnock and Aberdeen, while Ross County will welcome Hibernian to the Highlands.
Kilmarnock were the first team to book their place in the quarter-finals, edging past Ayrshire rivals Ayr United in a five-goal thriller.
Aberdeen followed with a 3-0 victory over Dundee at Pittodrie on Saturday. Ross County defeated Dunfermline 2-1, while Celtic secured their place in the last eight with a 4-0 win against Dundee United at Tannadice.
