About Scotzine
Scotzine is a daily news, opinions, and features platform dedicated to football in Scotland - covering the national team, the SPFL, lower leagues, juniors, women’s football, and the culture that surrounds the game.
Our story
First launched in 2006 by Andy Muirhead, Scotzine grew into one of Scotland’s largest independent football websites, widely recognised at its peak as the biggest of its kind with over 1.6 million unique visitors per year. It pioneered a multi-contributor model, bringing together freelance journalists, student writers, bloggers, podcasters, fans, and photographers to produce daily news, long-form features, magazine-style content, and video.
The relaunch
In 2026, Andy Muirhead relaunched Scotzine, timed with Scotland’s first World Cup campaign in 28 years. The revived platform returns to its roots as a broad, independent hub for news, opinion, and features - while actively inviting contributions from club bloggers, podcasters, and fans on tactics, stand stories, women’s and youth football, culture, and more.
